Where tools go missing in a field-based business
Tools pass from one person to another, stay in a van, get left at a client's site or end up at someone's home. A few months later nobody knows who has the good hammer drill or where the grinder's charger went.
Usually the list lives on a sheet of paper or in a spreadsheet that one person updates when they have time. When someone leaves the company, the hunt begins.
What the tool and equipment inventory module tracks
The inventory module keeps a record of every tool and piece of work equipment your company owns.
- who holds each tool: a person, a vehicle or the warehouse
- hand-overs between people, vehicles and the warehouse, with full history
- technicians can request changes from their phone, and you approve them
- barcode scanning with the phone camera
- battery and charger details
- a PDF or Excel list of everything a person holds

Paperless tool check-out and check-in
When a technician takes a tool from a coworker or drops it at the warehouse, the hand-over is logged in the app. The history shows who had the tool, from when and until when.
When someone joins or leaves the company, export a PDF of everything in their care. You can print and sign it as clear proof of what was handed over and what came back.
For any trade with expensive tools on the road
Tool tracking matters just as much for a crew installing CCTV cameras and alarm panels as for electricians, plumbing and heating techs, HVAC or solar PV installers, IT and network technicians, elevator or facility maintenance teams.
During setup you pick your company profile, and equipment categories come pre-filled for your trade. You can change them any time.
Connected to the rest of your operations
Inventory is part of Power Play Manager, alongside clients, jobs, the daily plan, job sheets signed on the phone and the fleet. Roles and permissions decide who can move tools and who can only view, and the activity log shows who made each change.
How to get started
Open the free demo and move a few tools between people and vehicles. Then we set up your company, team accounts and data imported from Excel, run about 2 hours of online training, and you're tracking tools the next day.
The app runs in English and Romanian, hosted by us or installed at your company. Plans start at €69/month excluding VAT, and tool inventory is an optional module.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a barcode scanner?
No. Barcodes are scanned with the phone camera, right in the app. There's no extra hardware to buy.
Can I import the tool list I already keep in Excel?
Yes. Power Play Manager supports Excel import and export. Your existing list can be brought in during setup so nobody has to type it again.
Can technicians move tools between themselves?
Technicians can request changes from their phone, and whoever has approval rights confirms them. You decide who can do what through roles and permissions.
Can I track the equipment kept in each van?
Yes. A tool can be assigned to a person, a vehicle or the warehouse. You quickly see what should be in each van and what's missing.
What happens when an employee leaves?
Export a PDF or Excel list of every tool in their care and do the hand-over from that list. The tools then move to another person or the warehouse, with the history kept.
Can I try it for free?
Yes. The demo is free, uses made-up data and needs no installation. The hosted subscription also includes a 7-day free trial.
