Floor plans

Upload the building plan (or draw a sketch), place cameras, sensors and cables on it, and the app produces the materials list and the quote.

TechnicianOffice / administratorSuper AdminOptional module

With Floor plans you place equipment directly on the client's plan: cameras, sensors, readers, sirens. You draw the cables, and the app counts the pieces and the meters of cable. From the plan you get the materials list, then the quote, then the job. The plan stays with the client, on their record.

Optional module. If you don't see the Floor plans menu, ask the app provider for it.

Step 1: create the plan and upload the drawing

  1. Open Floor plans and tap New plan (or from the client record, the “Floor plans” card).
  2. Choose The client, and the Site if needed, write the Plan name and tap Create plan.
  3. Tap Add plan. Choose I have the plan: photo, scan or PDF and upload the file — for a PDF, write which pages you want (e.g. 1 or 2-4).
  4. If you don't have a plan, choose I don't have a plan — I'll draw a sketch (walls, doors, windows) and draw the walls with the ▭ Wall tool.
  5. For several floors, tap Page / floor and add one page per floor.
AutoCAD files (DWG) can't be read directly. In AutoCAD save as PDF (“DWG to PDF”) and upload the PDF.

Step 2: set the scale

The scale is set once on each page. With it, the app calculates the meters of cable and how far each camera “sees”.

  1. Tap 📏 Scale.
  2. Click on the two ends of a wall whose length you know.
  3. Enter how many meters it is (e.g. 5 or 4.5) and tap Save scale.

Step 3: place the equipment and cables

  1. From the list on the right choose what you are placing (camera, sensor, reader…) and, if you want, the product from the catalog.
  2. Click on the plan where it will be installed. You can place several in a row; Esc = done.
  3. For a camera, in the panel on the right set the Direction, Field of view and Distance — the colored cone shows what it covers.
  4. Tap 〰 Cable, choose the cable type and click from point to point; double-click or Done to finish. On each run you can add Extra meters (rises, drops, ends).
  5. With T Text you write the names of the rooms (Living room, Hall, Office 2).
  6. With ✋ Move you drag the symbols; ↶ Undo undoes the last move.

The plan saves itself; at the top you see “Saved ✓”.

Step 4: materials, quote and the client's equipment

The plan status changes by itself: In progress → Quoted → Job (when the quote becomes a job, the plan also appears on the job) → Installed (after you add the equipment to the client).

Who can do what

From the pencil button (More) you rename the plan, write notes, delete it or — office only — tick The client sees it in the portal (the plan + materials list, without prices).

Frequently asked questions

Can I work on a plan from my phone?

Yes, but it's easier on a tablet or computer. On the phone, zoom in and out with two fingers.

The quote made from the plan was already sent to the client. What if I change the plan?

The app asks whether you want to make a new quote. While the quote is still a draft, the button is called “Redo quote” and updates it.

If I delete the plan, is the quote deleted too?

No. The quote and the equipment made from the plan stay.
